Dress by Peggy

Peggy follows wedding trends so submitted both a dress for the ceremony and one for the reception to keep Toni up-to-date with popular wedding fashion:

My name is Peggy Terry and I live in Austin, Texas. My designs were 315 and 316.MotivationI’ve read LUANN for several years. I am a big fan.

For some, relaxing means going to a bar/club for alcohol and dancing. For me, one of the ways to unwind is wandering through brides’ magazines (especially Martha Stewart’s Weddings, THE KNOT and UNVEILED).

This opportunity sounded like fun.

Inspiration

There was a story line about a firefighter’s calendar and Toni would be the January model (Vol. 18). During the photo session she causes Brad’s jaw to drop. Most brides want to look stunning on their wedding days. While Toni is low key in her fashion choices in comparison to her future sister-in-law Luann (and Tiffany), I thought that she might want to be a bit daring for her big day.

I thought a long sleeved, crop top with a key-hole back (#316) and a floor length skirt would be the perfect mix of modest edginess. I see Toni (and most brides) wanting their new husbands to paraphrase Jay Z/Sterling K. Brown/Courtney B. Vance saying “. . .I’ve got the hottest chick in the game, rockin’ my chain.” This ensemble meets that criteria.
Many brides are now getting a second dress for the reception. 315 is modeled after Oscar de la Renta’s reception dress for Amal Clooney – a fringed, flapper inspired creation. I see Toni’s dress in silver for the holidays. I see Brad wanting to dance with Toni.

Thanks for the opportunity to participate. FYI – I shared the link to all the submissions with a friend who just got engaged. I thought that she might see some ideas before she heads for Martha Stewart, THE KNOT and UNVEILED.
