Voters liked this classy design from Karen C. and it rose to #9 overall. It was one of very few dresses that featured a jacket so we were curious where this idea came from. Here’s Karen’s explanation:
Thirty-five years ago, I designed and made my own wedding dress, so I thought I would try my hand at designing for a comic strip character!I am from an artistic family – currently, my son and daughter-in-law are both environmental artists for a computer gaming company. I enjoy sewing for myself and others.I wanted something that would be feminine like Toni is, but would have something of her firefighter background show through. The dress jacket is reminiscent of an old-fashioned fireman’s jacket!
