Behind-the-scene commentary from Greg Evans:
Oooo! Is this a foreshadowing of a future BradDad? It’s pretty clear that Brad will be a good father whenever he and Toni decide to start a family. But what about Shannon? There’s been a lot of speculation at LuannComic.com about whether Brad and Toni would/should/will/won’t adopt Shannon and save her from her dubious dad, Jonah. So what, exactly IS the plan?

Ok, I’m going to tell you right here and now…

Gotcha! Of course I’m not going to tell. Why? Is it because it’s a big secret and I don’t want to ruin the surprise? Is it because I don’t want to give away suspenseful plot points that keep readers coming back to the strip each day? Is it because I don’t actually know yet?

Oooo! And more foreshadowing here of Brad and Toni’s possible domestic life together. I’m pretty sure most young couples get married without ever having serious discussions about toilet paper hanging, dishwasher loading and milk carton drinking. But, as a man who’s been happily married for nearly half a century, I can safely say that it’s the little things that give marriage joy – and distress. All couples bring quirks to their life together. Odd habits and personal preferences can be fun and charming – at first. But after years of hearing him do a musical belch or seeing her use his favorite tee shirts as rags, the charm can wear thin.

And as for the final image here: when Toni is slipping her toes up Brad’s leg, does anyone expect him to remember to feed Puddles? Poor doggie.
