Behind-the-scene commentary from Greg Evans:
I felt I needed to explain why Toni was even WITH Dirk the Jerk. Her explanation seems weak to me now, but it was all I could come up with (sometimes the daily deadline of writing a comic strip gets in the way of telling The Very Best Story).

Once again, having no image resource like Google, I paid a visit to the local fire academy training facility. They were nice enough to let me wander around, observe the routines and snap photos. I developed a good relationship with the area’s Fire Chief so whenever I needed specific details or facts, I gave him a call.

Here’s a mystery I have no answer to: why some strips are colored and some aren’t.
